During this adoption process, sometimes my heart would be sad thinking about Lyla in an orphanage while we are all doing things together. I thought about her being four, and how I would miss certain milestones in her life.
Well, the reality is... I have not missed much. There are so many things I am experiencing with Lyla for the first time. I get to see her eyes light up, and her little mind work. Just like when my other kids when they saw something for the first time.
In some ways, I feel like I have helped teach her to walk, just like my other children. I heard her say her first English word and Mommy for the first time with her... Just like my others.
Because she is developmentally behind... I get to raise her up and teach her just like my other children.
While I do worry for her some with these delays... I know she will catch up and I am thankful I have these first time experiences with all my children!
Today has been such a fun day. We got up and went to church this morning with our friends. It was a great message out of 1 John. By the way, I think every church service or fellowship I have been to during this trip... All the sermons/studies have been on 1 John. I think The Lord is trying to get through to me... Considering I have been in several different places in India for worship.
Next... I am so excited to say that I got to spend time with some dear friends from Jaipur, J and S. They were members of our church in North Carolina and now live here in India. We had a wonderful lunch, walked around a mall, and they treated me to Starbucks and Cinnabon! They loved on Lyla and we were able to catch up and chat for quite a while. We visited together so long... We even had dinner together. They both asked how our team was doing that visited from Trinity. :) They hope we come visit again soon!
I really wish I had better Internet access, so I could post some pictures I took today. My friend J took some extra special pictures for Scott, I really wish I could post right now. Oh well, they will just make their debut next week when I am home.
My flight has been booked... I think! Scott is handling it on his end. Can't wait to get home and see the rest of the family and finally all be together.
Please pray for me, tomorrow morning I will have a very unique opportunity to share with a group of people. There are some cultural things I need to be very aware of while I am sharing. I am not used to this, so please pray my words will not be offensive and that some seeds can be planted.
Have I mentioned how awesome it was to see my friends from Jaipur? Such a great day!
